Brit' Word of the Day....

I am going with a phrase today and it tends to be used mostly by northerners in the UK, this is one of my personal favourites!

"Bloody Nora that's quite a hat you've got on today"!

'BLOODY NORA' = WOW

It is generally an expression of awe, shock or surprise.....I warn you now, if any you use this when talking to me with your Okie accents, I am highly likely to fall over laughing!

I have no idea...LOL! But the expression is thought to have originated from Australia and we also use "Flamin' Nora", which expresses the same meaning. Whoever Nora was, she's become immortalised in the English language!
