Brit' Word of the Day....

Today’s BWOTD comes courtesy of Simon Cowell on AI last night!

“Make sure you tick all the questions you got right”

I have regularly caused utter confusion in classrooms across NW Okieland with that sentence!

‘Tick’ = a check mark

Simon used it last night when he said “that ticked all the boxes” meaning that was totally right. We also say 'ticked off' which bizarrly means we're annoyed about something!

we also say ticked off to mean annoyed, or really, slightly more than annoyed to the point of being mad --- but surely they were just giving simon a hard time with that one last night -- i think that is a very easy one to figure out.
