Pre-K Marriage Proposal and Puke!

Yes you read that right, today I received a marriage proposal from a 6 year old called Caleb. Totally out of the blue he ran up to me and said "I'm going to marry you when I get older Miss Sarah", gave me a hip hug and ran off again! LOL

Later my day took a downturn when a little girl started projectile vomiting with no warning and continued to do so as we ran her the width of the room to a trash can! End result, puke everywhere, up the wall, on the bulletin board, a 9ft trail across the floor - I swear I never thought a little girl could produce so much vomit!

Of course the smell was appalling and almost immediately the other 17 of them started yelling, heaving and covering their noses in horror. Spotting a disaster in the making...I rapidly removed them out to the playground before anymore started puking from the smell. This was followed by 2 calls to the office requesting the cleaner as an emergency and the parent to pickup her daughter! Our blessed cleaner Lourdes was equally appalled at how much vomit one 5 year old girl can produce.

She was so sick one of the other little girls was so very concerned she ran over to ask me if Cory had to go to hospital...LOL, I reassured her no she'd be ok!

Good job I love the little ones, as I get to do it all over again tomorrow, hopefully without the drama though! :-)

This is exactly why I like the teenagers who would remove themselves before vomiting!!

My mom taught preschool and I picked MS and HS in the district where I work. My mom and I continue the battle.

Me to mom: preschoolers aren't potty trained very well, vomit without warning, have runny noses.

Moms response to me: Teenagers smell with body odor and start their hormonal stuff...

Bless her heart and stomach, and the little girl that was concerned for her. I like, Caleb. Your days are eventful if nothing else.

Well done for dealing with that. If my hubby had been anywhere around he would have added to it. With three kids, he's the biggest hazard when one of them gets sick.

HOLY MOSES! I've seen plenty of kid puke in my time but never like that!!!! I'm surprised you would remember the proposal after that horrific scene.

Chellie - I'm with you're mom 100%!

Rhea - another reason I never had any ;-)

Teresa - she was fine after, it was a complete 'evacuation'!

Expatmum - lol, god help them if any are sick this weekend then!

Snippety - awww but it's not everyday one gets such a sweet proposal :-)

omg, that is a hilarious story. i can remember doing that at the school lunch room table at about that age. I was definitely a puker as a kid. No question about it. Mom had a puke-kit she kept in the car just for me for trips to Tulsa to see the grandparents. Poor girl! But quick thinking on your part! Well done you.

P.S. So did you give your answer to the boy?

Pam - I kept my options open, after all I may be glad of a 36 yrs younger toy-boy by the time I am 70! LOL

What an eventful day you had! I agree, there is nothing more appalling than the smell of vomit - except being the one to clean it up. Yuck!

OMG it still stinks of puke in here today, despite sterling cleaning efforts and fragrance spray!

Yes, those little people contain amazing amounts of fluid for such little bodies.....
I love the marriage proposal. It does start young. DH is horrified that Lady K is already playing 'mehwhege'. He keeps saying, 'She's only 5!'. Poor guy and I do feel for the boys coming round the door to take her out.
