Hello, I've just linked here from Musings. I had to laugh at your BWOTD. I've had a few American bloggers asking what I meant when I said I was really chuffed.
When we first moved to England I was so distraught...we had a choice between being stationed in England and Italy...we chose Italy because at least we spoke the language (plus I'm a rabid Anglophile) only to find I didn't understand them and they didn't understand me...but we worked it out once I learned to say "hawf and hawf" when asked what I wanted in my coffee lol Sandi ps aubergine was another corker!

I never would have known what "budge up" meant or chuffed either...never heard it until your blog!
