Convert!

When CROCS first appeared in the streets on the feet of just about every 4th person you passed, as a shoe connoisseir I was literally repulsed and horrified! I was in disbelief that these people couldn't see how ugly these shoes were and how ridiculous they looked.

But they have continued to multipy as if they are the footwear equivalent of Scientology, I suspect CROC owners must be required to spread the word and recruit above all else. I swore I would never wear them and humiliate my usually fashionably attired feet.

Then I spotted this purple pair in a store and decided they were alot better than the 'holey' ones. As you know I am a keen gardener and I thought they would make perfect garden shoes, so I succumbed.

My feet went into raptures, they were literally the most comfortable shoes they had ever been clad in and they were a cute colour. But then it got hot here and the design of these mean't my feet were sweating big time. So with my feet begging me to keep them in cushioned and well supported but more airy comfort, 'quelle horreur' I ordered myself the pink holey ones, figuring the brighter the colour the better, if I must wear them!

My feet were eternally grateful and they rapidly became my daily footwear of choice, I have even been known to wear them outside the borders of our home, i.e. IN PUBLIC! Last week I even took them with me to work to change into whilst I was trudging back and forth clearing stuff.

And that's when I saw my good friend Judy wearing her brightly coloured CROC Thongs and full of the joys of how comfortable her feet are. So as we wear the same size, she kicked them off and let me take them for a test ride. 2 days later the little darlings pictured below arrived from Endless.com!

My feet are happy, I have eaten CROC humble pie and become a convert and now I am doing my duty and working on any other non-believers out there. Oh and by the way, the imitations do not compare at all for comfort and support.

This a footwear fashionista speaking to you people, I own more than 70 pairs of shoes! But right now if I had 1 minute to grab a few pairs and run for my storm cellar, 3 of them would be these and then 1 cute pair just to preserve my reputation.

CROCS are without doubt the best shoes for your feet you will ever wear, they're comfortable, give great support and you can wear them for hours - if you don't have a pair already, then swallow your pride and try a pair, your feet will be eternally grateful and your pride will be long forgotten!

Now I am coveting a pair of the first ones in the advert above, the CROC Wedge aka. Cyprus, how cute are those and with a heel - bliss!

Please say it isn't so? CROCS? I don't think a day goes by when I don't see mums, kids, grannies, store owners and so on, wearing this ghastly apparitions! What makes me truly horrified is that you can buy these daft little custom croc charms for them. I mean! Really? Come on!

I've yet to try them on for fear that I *will* find them comfortable and become a bona fide 'stepford' croc wearer...I mean, I really would have sold my SOLE! ;-)

I LOVE< LOVE LOVE my Crocs. I got them last summer, and I don't think there is a day that goes by where I don't wear them. I am hoping to get a new pair for my B-day.

I love my CROCS! I have a couple pair, but not sandals! Guess I know what I'll be adding to my collection soon!

I haven't yet converted but may have to give them a try. Everyone I know who has tried them loves them!!

I guess it depends which style you choose. I'm not a fan of the fat, goofy Cayman with the holes, but I love the canvas Celeste and Canvas Capri with floral print. They truly are comfortable shoes, especially for those with foot problems.

Okay...I am swallowing...and going to look for a pair. The older I get, the more important comfort becomes.

well i have resisted them so far too, but .... i might just have to have those sandals soon. and thanks for the link to that site, i have already found several things i might need to invest in! i had already given up looks for comfort in the shoe department some time ago! but surely they could make these things a little less cloggy and a little more sleek?

OKAY, here's a quick question. I am reading where these run a little large. So if you are a 7-1/2, would you order 7 or would you order an 8?

Sarah: Yay on the conversion! You crack me up! I love Crocs. Their headquarters is in Niwot, near Boulder. Another lovely local Colorado bidness. I have two pairs of the original 'holey' ones, one pair of thongs in hot pink and neon green, look like watermelons according to Lady K. She has her own, thank goodness they make them for kids. Her current pair are cotton candy pink and are the non-holey style. I am about to go shopping for the newer styles to add to the shelves.

Well, the sandal things look fine but the originals - ugh! AND they are really, really wide. To answer the size question posted, if shoes run big then you order maybe half a size smaller. A warning though, if you have narrow feet you'll be walking out of them or sliding around.
They are comfy though.

Pam - I am usually an 8.5 and so I get a 9 as the 8 is too small

BTW Pam - The Health Food Centre off I-35 have them, the thongs and the traditional if you want to try them

I was one who too thought they were soooooooo ugly that I would never wear them...until I tried them on in a store adn I totally agree, they are the most comfortable shoes ever. I love them even though they aren't near as popular as they used to be.

I LOVE them. I have the blue/green sandal ones like you got & I wear them all over creation. I'm with you. I own many pairs of shoes, but I always grab the Crocs. And, the tyke? Has three pairs.

Remember the foot surgery I mentioned, and the next 18+ months of agony gone to tenderness and weakness? I have no idea what I would have done without my orange holey CROC's. Love at first comfort I must say. Besides, we had a wonderful CROC store at our outlet in Michigan City, Indiana, just a few miles from my home.

The new additions to your shoe wardrobe are lovely.

But guys don't wear them, right? Why is that? They look comfy but not sure I could see myself wearing anything rubbery like that! LOL.

The Hubster is firmly with you on this opinion!

dagnabbit. I just wrote a long post and Blog Spot ate it. Now I have to use my brain and try to remember all the pearls of wisdom the last comment contained.

First, I think I said, I'm so sorry for the insane amount of comments you're getting from me this morning, I don't know how I got so behind on reading your blog.

Secondly, I hated crocs on sight also, but eventually bought them for my children. My feet are virgins still but I may give in soon because they heard your post and are yearning for comfy, colorful slip on shoes for the summer....

I love all the bright colors you bought!

And, if I had anything else to say, it's gone now. My brain is mush.

I'm onboard with the croc wearers also ;)
I'm not only onboard, I've become addicted, with six....yes six pairs sitting next to back door, just beckoning me each and every time I walk outside, to just pick a color !
I own the ones with holes in them and the solid ones, and even the "winter" ones, with little fleece removable linings.
I used to think they looked clumsy and "fat", but hey, their comfortable, that wins my vote everytime.
As for the men, the fella's around these parts wear them....even the camo colored ones, nawt wrong with that is there ?

Aha! I knew this post sounded familiar! I read it back in June! lol And I love the bright colors you chose. Nice!!
