Give me a break!

To say I am heartily sick of receiving all the numerous 'knock Obama' emails would be an understatement. I am now responding with a 'please quit sending me these' reply! This is not because I am a Democrat, support him or any other political reason.

But it seems total panic has broken out amongst the Republicans and also the racists - whether that's in respect of his color or muslim parentage, because either way that's racism in my book and entirely reprehensible. Plus many of them are over-sensationalised and not even factually correct most of the time.

But the biggest irony of all is, I CAN'T EVEN VOTE YET PEOPLE!

But I bet that doesn't stop them from sending you a jury service summons. Before I became a citizen, I received two a year. Now - nada! And guess what will be popping through my letter box tomorrow!

WHAT!You can get summoned onto a jury before you're even a citizen!

I can vote though! Actually most Repubs I know (including myself) like the guy and don't buy into the email propaganda just as we don't about all the rediculous stuff about Bush!

I may not agree with alot of Obama's positions but i can't stop liking the man and his wife, Michelle. I think they are genuinely good people.

My sis moved to SF and within a fortnight, weirdly got summoned for Jury Duty!

I totally agree with you, but you shouldn't have replied to them. They now know they have a valid e-mail address, and will probably send you even more.

And, yes, you can receive a jury service summons, but you can't participate unless you're a citizen. You just have to decline their kind invitation on those grounds.

Jan - these were and are all emails from people I know personally!

Don't worry, I'm sure you will start receiving plenty of McCain bashing e-mails soon enough! I am fascinated by Mrs. Obama and Mrs. McCain both -- class class class class.

I think the jury pools in Oklahoma are pulled from the voter databases but could be wrong about that. Maybe it is the driver's license numbers? I would love to be called for jury duty!

I'm amazed you can get called to jury duty before you're a citizen...interesting.

It's sad there's so much anti-obama stuff out there. I am not sure where my vote's going yet, but I'm not crazily anti-anybody.

I'm not a republican or a democrat. I'm sort of inbetween...or on my own....or alongside sometimes...you get the idea.

Rhea you're about where I am generally
