My personality assessed!

You are an Architect (About me)

Your preference for concrete, visually pleasing things, combined with your confidence and your respect for order make you an ARCHITECT.

You are logical and detail-oriented, which allows you to get things done efficiently. (True)

You are quite sure of yourself, so that you tend to know the best ways of doing things. (Are you reading this mum ;-)?!)

Your eye for aesthetic beauty and style indicates that you know a lot about design. (Not sure I agree with this one)

Having a routine and sticking to it is important to you; you find comfort in tradition and familiarity. (Absolutely)

Self-reliance is something in which you take great pride—you are confident and down to earth. (Definitely)

You have a basic faith in yourself in many areas of your life, allowing you to be self-assured when facing challenges. (Also true!)

Your independent streak allows you to make decisions efficiently and to trust your instincts. (Scarily true!)

You're not afraid to let your emotions guide you, and you're generally considerate of others' feelings as well. (note the 'generally' here!)

You have a strong sense of style and value your personal presentation - friends may even seek your style advice from time to time. (But I wear Crocs daily!?)

Generally, you believe that you control your life, and that external forces only play a limited role in determining what happens to you. (Hmmm only partially true - I don't really believe in luck, but I do believe in God having a path for me and fate)

If you want to be different:

Try moving beyond the things that you find comfortable—open yourself up to a broader range of experiences. (i.e less planning, more spontaniety & risks!)

Question how much you know about things by imagining different possibilities. (does this mean be more open-minded?)

You are Benevolent (How I relate to others)

You are a great person to interact with—understanding, giving, and trusting—in a word, BENEVOLENT

You don't mind being in social situations, as you feel comfortable enough with people to be yourself. (true if I am not having a 'fat' day!)

Your caring nature goes beyond a basic concern: you take the time to understand the nuances of people's situations before passing any sort of judgment. (yep I think this is true)

You're a good listener, and even better at offering advice. (I try to be, but I have consciously worked on this for years as I was very bad!)

You're concerned with others at both an individual and societal level—you sympathize with the plights of troubled groups, and you can care about people you've never met. (yep I am a weeper and worrier during the News!)

Considering many different perspectives is something at which you excel, and you appreciate that quality in others. (I try to and I do!)

Other people's feelings are important to you, and you're good at mediating disputes. (That comes from my HR Manager days and training!)

Because of your understanding and patience, you tend to bring out the best in people. (Well I hope I do anyway)

If you want to be different:

You spend a lot of time taking care of others, but don't forget to take care of yourself! (guilty as charged!)

Sometimes you can get overcommitted, and when you sacrifice spending time with those close to you, it can make them feel unimportant. (I think the Hubster could vouch for this sometimes!)

Do you want to know your true personality? If so, head over to this site when you have a spare 20 minutes - Personal DNA. I would however only caution that it seems to focus on all the positives and not many negatives, which of course we all have somewhere inside our make-up!

But I would have to say this has certainly pinpointed some of my key personality traits accurately. Like why I can be reduced to tears on hearing about people I don't even know suffering! My love of logic, detail, decisiveness and routines - which is probably why I have always seemed pre-disposed to enjoy administration oriented work. I am definitely self-reliant, self-assured when challenged, can often see things from all sides and firmly believe in good personal presentation. It has also picked up on the fact I prefer routine to spontaniety or leaving my comfort zone but am very independent - this is all true.

I would therefore say that this test is pretty accurate and very hard to fiddle, as you will find out if you complete it. As mentioned though I would have also liked to know some of the negatives that show through, so I could perhaps work on them a bit. The Hubster has just read this over and he also thinks it's accurate and the people who know me who read this, will see me in the results!

Thanks to Snippety Gibbet for the link, who just like me is a sucker for these tests. Why not have a go too and post the results?

You are such a sweetie! Edward and I received the wonderful shortbread in the mail today! I had forgotten all about the contest, so it was a total surprise. What a treat! I will turn the air-conditioning way down tonight and enjoy it with a cup of Horlicks, and pretend I'm in Scotland!!

Thanks so very much!

I do love these tests, but I don't have time to take it right this minute. Fun stuff though.

Thanks for this one! As a former Psych major, I especially enjoy these sorts of personality tests.

I'm a "Benevolent Idealist", BTW.
