The first time I heard a friend say booie, I wondered what the heck he was talking about. So I asked him how he pronounced bouyant. The same as us! So where the hell does booie come from?
Hmmm, now I think this one is inter-changeable. Sort of like Bowie knife vs. David Bowie. Booie vs. Bowie. Both work and you could use either and we would know what you meant.

I think most Americans would pronounce it "boo-ie". Oh well, "tomato"-"tomahto". :)

And the town of Bowie in MD is pronounce boo-ie too. Wrong, just wrong . . .
