Earliest snow since 1974 in SE England!

I received a call from my mum in Buckinghamshire (40 miles nw of London) last night, which was something of a surprise. She informed me it was snowing hard and had been for a couple of hours. And this is just 2 days after British Summertime officially ended!

For a change it's not me having the wacky weather. Bless her heart she finally got this picture of her road through to me at 2am her time, now you know where I get it from!

Wow, now that is early. Actually it's not a case of early, it's just bizarre!

Isn't it weird? I just saw on TV here about the early snow in the east. My daughter says it's freezing in Chicago, too. Here? Just vog. Your mom is a mom after my own heart.

I spoke to my mum earlier. Can't believe it snowed! In London! So early in the year. Hell, that it snowed in London at all is pretty incredible.

Hope you're well

Yes snow was a rare event when I lived there but to start as early as October, even rarer. The day I married, November 21, was the first snowfall I remember. We are calling for snow here in PA today. Ughhh!

I slept through the snowfall, but it was still lying around here and there when I woke up.

Oh my...I don't remember such an early snow ever when we lived in Beaconsfield (Bucks). Snow we got, but usually in November's end...hope your Mum's well and of course you and hubby, too!

Just found your blog -- welcome to Okieland. My daughter is an Okie Gal in Britain -- married a Brit, lives in Penzance. If you get homesick, please check my blog and look at my England pics.

Sarah, I like the picture. If you like, you can click on this link and see a picture of my car this morning. I was in Lake Placid, NY for training. Not only was there the foot of snow you see, underneath it was frozen. I couldn't get my trunk open.
