School Halloween Idea's Needed

Every year the teachers at our school dress up according to a theme for Halloween, the Principal and I have been thinking up ideas, but could do with some more inspired suggestions.

So we decided to put it on my blog and see what you guys suggest!

We have 14 female staff of varying age and size, we have previously done Witches, Football Players and Pigs in a Blanket in recent years.

It's an elementary school, so fun ideas that are not too difficult and lend themselves to a group, would be greatly appreciated.

Get ya thinking caps on people and I may even post a piccie!

My sister won a prize by being a "witch doctor" -- meaning she made up her face like a witch and wore a pointy hat, but her clothing was her scrubs from when she worked at the vet and she had a stethoscope around her neck. I thought it was extremely clever!

How about food? Everyone dress as a fruit or a vegetable or hot dog - something along those lines.

Or dress as crayons. Or a favorite character from a book that the kids would know.

How about characters from the Harry Potter books?

Characters from kids story books. I have a wonderful photo of my MIL (school nurse) and 2 office staff as the three little pigs!

You can take egg carton bottoms as the buttons and go as a cellphone or a calculater using cardboard as the box the numbers sit on( I once dressed as a walkie talkie) Have fun!
HOpe you're feeling a lot better...well even!

You could do Snow White and the 13 dwarves.

You could do m&m's.

Nursery Rhymes...

That's all I've got.

Jailbirds. Easy costume for all body sizes. And cheap.

The Wizard of Oz is a cool idea. The girls at the bank last year did it as their theme and it was too cute.

i like the idea of crayons. that's kind of cool and kid friendly.

i thought about harry potter too...just because i'm such a fan. but it would be cool if all of you wore the long black hogwarts robes..

I like the above ideas of school/office supplies - ruler, caluculator, pencil etc.

I also loved the crayons too, that would look hilarious with you all in different colours wrapped in cardboard.

Once I dressed up as a French chef (I was the French teacher but anyone could do it). I made a chef hat out of bristol board and wore my red and white striped bib apron. I carried a Dutch oven (you know, the big pot without a handle) and filled it with jelly beans but put a giant plastic tarantula on top. I also carried a huge wooden spoon. So...if someone was acting up, they had to (get it? HAD to) stick their hand in my *wicked witch's cackle here* pot for *punishment*. It was all in fun, of course! That way, I gave out treats all day long to all my students who'd come in for their lesson. I had to refill the pot several times!
