You may remember about 6 weeks ago I lost everything on my lap-top, after a corrupted user profile issue.
This included about 500 pictures, I had stupidly not saved to disk, including the longhorn cattle drive, the old cars at the lake and Bon-Bon as a baby, amongst others.
Well I received a disk from my mum, with 381 of them on it! When she was here in July I burnt her a disk of pictures and she sent them back to me. I was more upset about losing the pictures than anything else, so I am now much happier :-)
I don't have the old cars at the lake still, but we will go back out there soon and I can retake those.

That is wonderful, Sarah! I felt so sad for you when you lost everything.
I didn't know about you losing everything, Sarah. I am so sorry. I sure DO know how that feels. I'm so glad you got some of it back. I haven't saved stuff in a good long while. It's so hard to remember.
What a great turn of events!
God bless Mum!
Oh my goodness. I would be just distraught over that. I constantly make disks and put the pic's on my work computer too. I have a terrible fear of losing it all. So glad some were "saved."
YAY MOM! Did you buy a back-up yet? I recommend the Passport USB plug-in. Super-easy.
MEANWHILE, you are #2 on the top 75 Oklahoma websites according to Oklahoma magazine!!! GO YOU!

You know, when I read that you lost the cars at the lake photos, I almost gasped. Believe it or not, I think of those images at least once a week. They were some of the most memorable images of the year for me. They were so sculptural.
Thank goodness for Mums!!
I lost a huge amount of information once when I installed a new Dell printer onto my Dell laptop. Should have been a piece of cake but somehow it corrupted the Windows registry. I had to reset my PC back to its original status. Nightmare!
I bought a backup drive the next day! Never again.
Oh no that really sucks, you might want to look at http://flickr.com to save all of your photos online and off your computer. So next time, and with computers there is always a next time, no regrets and all your photos are both safe and organized :)

Oh that's fantastic! I just recently had the same thing happen with my laptop and lost thousands of pictures. I had actually backed them up to a little portable hard drive that we have but then that went kaput as well! Glad you got some of yours back. :)
I will send you the car photo I 'stole' from you ...
