Kitchen - job done!

The work in progress, which I think shows how easy and mess free these vinyl planks are to use. The dark edges on them are sticky and you just put them down like laminate and they stick to each other. The only other thing you need is double-sided carpet tape around the perimeter. It has 5 star reviews on Home Depot's site, even a year after being laid.

In this picture you can see the comparison between the old and the new flooring. We don't quite have enough to do the breakfast area, so have ordered a couple more boxes and will finish it next weekend.

The whole job took the hubster, with a little help from me, about 3 hours total! We are delighted with the results, it sets off our cabinets, updates the kitchen and is a great match for the adjoining dining room. Plus as demonstrated here, being vinyl it is pet friendly, an essential for us and the girls!

Wow - that looks great! I'll have to look into it for my kitchen.

That must be Maggie May's cousin I see - the coloring is very similar.

wow, only 3 hours. does it take a saw also to even up on the edges? still looks like a scary job to take on (to me).

That looks really great. You've both worked really hard, can't believe it only took 3 hours. Looks a really professional job.

We had a vinyl floor laid in strips and it took the bloke hours to do it and he had to come the night before to screed the floor! That was nearly 14 years ago so it's done quite well. Mind it cost a mint.

After seeing your floor I think we'll be doing it ourselves next time. That's if we can get the same kind of flooring here.

Great work you two.
