Tuesday was 24F / -4C with about 4" of snow and looked like this all day!! That's a bone-chilling 53 degree temperature change overnight!!
It's a rare thing to go from short sleeves and sandals, to thermals and snowboots within 24 hours, and not to travel anywhere to do it. Especially for a Brit' Gal, what the heck is going on?!
Thanks for letting me know that something was goofy with my comment box. I hope it's OK now. I think it was Michelle of Rambling Woods that mentioned at one time that my comment box was acting up, too.
thank you for sharing your beautiful country. i always dream of snow 'coz we do not have snow in my country and your post just made me more eager to feel one. thanks for sharing.
Wow - that's quite a temperature swing! Ours is swinging back in the opposite direction, but not quite as much or as fast. It was 11F when I got to work at 8:30 on Monday morning, and I think it reached a high of 24F. Today it's supposed to reach a high of 58F - it's 55F already.
Us too moment, Sarah...it was in the 20's and now it's in the 60's and I actually turned on the a/c for about an hour last night! Thinking of you today, prayers that no tornadoes actually rear their ugly heads in yours or our neck of the woods! Sandi
That is quite the drop in temperature! I remember when I lived in Texas we had a drop like that - Halloween it was baking hot as usual and bam! November 1st it was winter! Thanks for the lovely comments. Glad to meet you! Sounds like you had quite the culture shock moving here to the sticks. MUFC eh? Sigh....do you actually get to watch any football down where you are?
Sarah, I love the pic of the snow falling down. There is something soothing about watching snow coming down, except if you have to drive in it. Thanks for sharing!
Today, Sunday, Dec 14 was sunny, but with a strong wind blowing from the south, and 70F. By 4:30pm the wind changed to a northerly, and 3 hours later our temp had dropped 40 degrees, with hail and icy rain. That's Oklahoma for you . :-)

Actually, this sounds like Chicago, too.

Looks like someone shook the snow globe! And it looks like Milwaukee, too.
It'll make your Christmas lights look much nicer though. You don't live in Bedford Falls do you ?

Girl we were thinking of you guys last night when watching the weather report! Welcome winter, eh????
So we're both enjoying a little of the white stuff. We had more last night and it won't be our last!
It dropped so quickly, I literally felt the barometric pressure drop. And, at least you got snow. We just got COLD!
It's warm enough for snow here in Chicago. (It's often too cold to snow.)
That much difference? Holy Toledo! I agree, what's going on?
Sarah
DO uou normally get snow in winter in Oklahoma or is it a freak spell?
just keep it over your way. please!

Winifred - yep snow and ice are common here in the winter
As we say in Oklahoma, "If you don't like the weather, just wait a few minutes!"
