These need a Government Warning too!

I'm sorry but the picture above just makes me want to laugh, or cry. Because unless you have the will-power of Posh Spice, then at some point having these so called friends in your cupboard, will be your undoing if you're on a diet!

I speak from experience here. I no longer waste money on these 100 calorie packs, because the problem is...one is rarely enough if a craving hits you. Suddenly your supposedly 100 calorie microscopic serving, has turned into a 700 calorie nightmare, as you scoff the lot in a kind of chocolate fueled madness. Been there done that and so now these packs are banned from my cupboards.

And at the end of the day, they are still empty, unsatisfying (well physically at least), sugar loaded, addictive calories. So can I suggest the following message is printed on the side of all these candy packs, purporting to be just 100 innocent calories....IF you can control yourself that is?

'Chocolate can be dangerously addictive in the wrong hands, or at the wrong time of the month, in ANY quantity!'

100 Calorie Packs are evil! They lull you into a false sense of security and then ruin your diet!

your right these are an undoing.
but i am sillier.
no chocolate in the house and i go nuts.
buy some and put it on my nightstand and i can go month without eating one piece.
funny huh?

Although I'm a real Snickers fan I always buy the twin Twix pack when I'm out with my wife so we can have a bar each. Now that is true romance! (Or perhaps am I too tight to buy two Snickers bars? You be the judge).

What a fantastically clear photo.

I'm not a chocaholic well that's what I tell myself. I never buy it but if it's in the house I eat it! So my grandchildren lose their Milk Flakes, well they just melt in the mouth don't they, so no calories there.

As the ad says "Only the crumbliest, flakiest chocolate, tastes like chocolate never tasted before". Oh how right you are Cadbury's!

My downfall is crisps especially Hula Hoops. SO I don't buy them.

I agree that one package is not enough. It just leaves you wanting more!

Thanks for stopping by my site. I'm following you. It's great to know another Okie blogger.

These things are sich a sham! You open one and its a big let down b/c you know you will have to eat at least 2 to get any satisfaction!
Great Blog! Visiting from SITS!

I don't buy them. I refuse to support gimmicks, especially when they charge 300% more for the wrapping and presentation.
Thanks for your visit. See some similarities in our lives.

So true, but they are good.

Isn't rural Oklahoma just great?

I LOVE chocolate, too but I can't have sugar much at all so I get Dove Promise which is supposed to have lots of antioxidants. Then I keep fuller by eating nuts and having a ration of 1 (or 2) Promises pieces. :-) Not really really satisfying but it will have to do for me. Sarah, I love your new picture. You're beautiful in glasses, too.

I'll bet our new administration will spend good money to help you overcome your craving and eat apples and oranges instead. :)

I had to throw out a container of low fat ice cream yesterday b/c I realized I'd almost eaten half of the box...

Saying hi from SITS!

What you have to remember is that a calorie is a measure of how good food tastes , the more calories, the better it tastes !!

I came across half fat Haagen Daas the other day , what's the point of that?

Comfort food should be BAAAAD!!

I'm not so sure about the evils of Chocolate, but I'm sure they will manifest if I denied my better half the food of the gods. We find keeping a ready supply around works better than buying those wee packs of trouble. We tend to leave large quanities alone; I really don't know why, but we do.

All these 100 calorie packs - cookies included - are such a bad thing for just the reason you set forth .. not enough to satisfy the urge .. better to skip the treat and have a nice cup of Tips

Go large, or go home.
That's what I say. It also might be why I need to lose a bit of weight too!

Oh, but I can't live without chocolate. It's always in my house, but I have learned constraint.

I think I would need to eat at least 3 boxes of those things to be satisfied!

They should sell them individually, boxes are never a good idea.

Oooh I could spend many a day gorging myself on M&M's and chocolate bars! Of course if I did that I would be living in the gym!

Stopping by from SITS. I have never bought any of these devilish treats. I would eat all of them in one sitting & what's the point in that?

Amen!!!

Some things that I need to keep around the house (like treats that I use while cycling) I have to keep in a locked box, that only my significant other knows the combination to. I'm afraid these tiny bags would have to go in there as well.

Oh Sarah--my feelings exactly. Eating one of those things just makes me want MORE --and MORE---and MORE. Thanks for reading my blog about my struggle with weight.. My lifelong problem!!!

It may be a better idea to just buy the candy bar. Its less cals. I don't have will power.

Anna's Spot said...

Sarah,
I totally agree with you there. I try not to keep that "stuff" in my house. I give the kids one pack in their lunch and the rest is mine.
Hugs and have a beautiful evening.

I looked at your posts and I thought I needed to comment on this. Have you noticed how obsessed people are with calories?
not diets, just calories.
Like us, we eat Lean Cousine morning noon and nite. Isn't anyone enjoying food anymore?
