Today's BWOTD is one the Hubster has decided he is going to use!
"He was creepy and just gave me the collywobbles"
'Collywobbles' = spine-tinglingly scary/scaredI am reliably informed that the American equivalent of this is to have the 'heebie jeebies'!

Collywobbles is so much better than heebie jeebies!!!
I like collywobbles much better than heebie jeebies. I do! I wonder what a colly is. But then again, I don't know what a heebie is either. :-0
I love that new word!
One more to add to my vocab! ^^
Gosh - it's been ages since I've heard that expression... Gotta use it today somehow...
i'm loving the BWOTD!! i grew up with so many of them, being a british colonist haha! :-)
I love that one. May have to use it.
Collywobbles is just too cute! I've got to start using it, too!
I haven't heard that in a donkey's age :) Going to use it next time son comes over. Every now and again an old English phrase slips out and takes him by surprise, with the ensuing question, "What's that mean?"
Or 'a sense of impending doom' ... as a former co-worker loved to say whenever we went to a staff meeting...
Well that is certainly a new one for me Sarah! I might have to use that today at some point. I agree with Kay heebie jeebies is over used!
Great word I've never heard, Sarah... I'll try to remember it everytime I get the 'heebie jeebies'!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
Haha! The MINUTE I read the first line I thought, "sounds like the heebie jeebies!" And sure enough! I'll have to try this one out!
I love it. I am so going to use that one!
Sarah I love your blog especiallt BWOTD. I have read alot of your blogs and they are fab. LOve the one about the health system and going to the doctors and asking ahout some drug lol. How long have you lived in the US? Have you still got your british accent?. Just wanted to say its great reading your blog, you do a great job.
Collywobbles. It sounds great rolling off my tongue. However, I like heebie jeebies also.
I like it! I've got to remember to use that sometime.
Didn't there used to be a cartoon strip about tiny people called the Colly Wobbles?
To me, it has more of a sense of being nervous (eg before an exam) rather than being creeped out (eg in a haunted house). But it's not a word I use very often!
