Do you Wii?

When the Nintendo Wii game system came out the Hubster and I were very dubious. We were not at all convinced we'd get home from work after a long day, and then want to prance around the living room playing tennis, golf, baseball etc...

Well how wrong we were ladies & gentlemen, meet our Mii's!!

Last Friday some good friends invited us around to play on their Wii with them, we arrived at 6pm and left after midnight - enough said I think! Not only was it alot of fun, but it's quite a workout too. The next day we were both a little sore from our efforts!

It took us a few minutes to get used to it, resulting in some laughs for all. When the Hubster and I started boxing each other, I turned around and started trying to actually hit him!! Our host had to grab my shoulders and turn me to the TV before I laid him out. Who knew I had so much aggression stored up in me towards the lovely Hubster!! Enough that I beat him by 2 rounds to 1, although he claimed I was crowding him out. I told him to put his big boy pants on and quit whining ;-)

So inevitably we ended up buying our own system on Sunday, and since then we have been finding muscles we had long since forgotten in front of our TV (no sniggering here!). We are especially loving the golf this week, but have been playing all the sports and it's just FUN, with a capitalised F!

Do you have one, have you tried one and which games do you love?

We got a Wii in January. We all love it. We have Wii Sports (with boxing, bowling, tennis, golf and baseball) and we have Wii Fit.

(My) Sarah was so intense playing boxing one night that she could barely move the next day — literally barely move.

You certainly can get a decent workout. I can't use the Wii Fit (because of the balance board) until I lose a little more weight... it has a weight limit, but I may be able to get there by late Spring!

Well, I was taught not to punch a lady..........Let me tell you she's no "lady" when it comes to boxing. Next time will be a little different!!!

I don't have a Wii myself but friends and family have them and many an evening has been spent playing with the Wii.

I was impressed how much like "real" bowling the bowling game was.

My friends & I actually have a Wii sleepover planned for next month!

I LOVE Wii. haven't broke down to buy one yet--mainly because I can't justify the expense just *yet*, but I'd safely say that within the next 6 months there will be one in my entertainment center :)

I'm randomly visiting you from SITS today...great blog!

We go a Wii last year and love it to pieces!
My favorite on the sports is the boxing-what a work out!
We do have the Wii Fit - I was using it all the time but the last few months not so much. *blush* Really, need to get back on it. I really, really enjoy the yoga which surprised me.
We have the Wii Ski which uses the board and is just like the real thing minus the cold winter chill.
The hockey is also tops with my youngest and I - though he tends to win a bit more. :-/
They are great fun and we love to add friends in when they come to visit.
Enjoy!!

Megan, our oldest daughter got a wii from her husband for her birthday in January. She is addicted!! They called us up and asked us to come and play, we did and we had a wonderful time! What fun and what a great way to exercise!! Since Megan got married a year ago in April, she has put on some pounds and she doesn't want to join a gym. She bought wii Fit not to long ago and faithfully does it! YAY all the way around! Have fun!

One of my girlfriends has one and brought it over for a sleepover party last fall. FABULOUS! My mom wants us to pool together and get her one for her birthday!

I have had the Wii for 2 years now. We always play it at our Christmas party and award cash prizes. Lots of fun!

No, I've never tried it but it sure does sound like fun. Maybe that would force me to get some exercise.

We don't have it but played it a bit at some friends in England last year. The bowling was a hoot. More important, it is scary how much that avatar looks like your hubster .... except for that evil eyeliner ... guyliner ... I guess he has never worn that around us ;) hehehe

We got a Wii last summer and love it. It's great for us to have and it's really a ton of fun when people come over. We have a lot of games. We still like Sports, and we personally like Wii Fit, Boom Blox and Mario Kart. My husband loves the shooting games and has a bunch of those. It's really a fun, interactive game system :) The first weekend we got it, we could barely move our arms and shoulders after playing sports for hours on end, LOL!

We use Wii at the hospital with our patients. It is very gratifying for them to play baseball, bowling or other sports from their wheelchairs. I was sore after a few rounds of bowling (done in standing) Our daughters prefer Rock Band and Guitar Hero to the sports.

Ah - the Wii is great fun! We have Wii Sports, Wii Family Ski (you can do snowboarding, jumping, downhill racing etc..), Guitar Hero, of course, and Lego Star Wars... Oh and something I really like - a whole range of microgames that are brilliant fun: Wario Smooth Moves. Highly recommended.

We don't have a Wii, but I have heard great things about it. Thanks for sharing your opinion -- we might need to consider getting one.

I don't have one but I really really want one. But, my husband won't go for it. He says we wouldn't use it. it's more like HE wouldn't use it.
