Today's BWOTD is another very commonly used one: "He really cheesed me off with his comments" 'Cheesed off' = Annoyed Nothing whatsoever to do with cheese that is beyond it's best :-)
And here when we think things are lacking in taste they are considered cheesy .. no idea why .. maybe someone sniffed some Limberger or rotting brie ...
Your WOTD posts always make me smile. Reminds me of just how much we British say which makes no sense to Americans! Sadly, the longer I live in the US, the more I forget about the lingo from home.

That's nice looking cheese
I have heard that before here in the States, but not so much in Oklahoma.
That's a new word/meaning for me!
Sarah, I have heard that one. My friend in Ireland uses that all the time!
For some reason this saying makes me think of some kind of STD! I kow, ew!
Your word is classier then the alternative, here in the states!

oh, i love it! that phrase gets used quite often around here.. :)
I've never heard that but it sounds a very expressive way to say it. Pity I can't really use it around here as nobody would know what I meant!
That cheese looks brill! Wish I had a couple of crackers to go with it.
The word verification was almost one of my favourite cheeses -EMENTAB
