It seemed a shame to waste all this snow!Snow Ice Cream = 1c MilkSNOW - only the white snow! 1/2c Sugar1/2 tsp Vanilla Mix snow in until the right consistency
Awwwwww. I haven't had snow ice cream in ages. My dad always used to make it for us when I was a kid! Yep, gotta make the best of it, because you're gonna be seeing it for a while. We have NONE left. We didn't even get a ground cover here on the Moors.
Ice cream snow...yum! One of these days, I'm going to have some real maple syrup handy when we have a good snow & try some of the maple sugar candy that Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote about in "Little House In The Big Woods"
I wish I'd had this fab recipe earlier this year - I've never ever tried snow ice cream, and I love ice cream, so thankyou for sharing and hope you get your thaw soon.
My mom used to make snow cream when we were kids and when Tennessee actually got snow like what you have. As we got older and into science, my sister pointed out that snow is just frozen rain and rain is water wrapped around a dirt particle...then it didnt become as appealing so we stopped. But it wont stop me from doing it one day when I have kids...enjoy your wintery mix!
I remember snow ice cream when I lived in Kansas. I'd completely forgotten this fun. I have to do this for Lady K next time it snows. Thanks for that memory lane trip.
When I was a kid we would always make snow ice cream after any snowfall that was deep enough. I taught all of my high school buddies how to make it. I haven't had any in years.
Ice cream, yum. No matter how it's made. As a kid we to make the maple sugar candy in the snow. But right now, I'm glad there's none on the ground. Hang in there, and enjoy.
Yum, that looks really good! I can't remember the last time we had enough snow to make snow ice cream. Glad you got enough (and plenty extra, it looks like!) to make some ice cream :)

We call it snow cream here in Kentucky, but we haven't had a deep enough clean snow to make it for several years. Glad you enjoyed yours.
Hmmm, interesting idea, but I'll have to wait until next year now....and that's not entirely a bad thing you understand.
We used to make snow ice cream with my Grandmother when we were kids!! Enjoy!

What a great idea! Almost makes me wish that it were going to snow more just so I could make some with my boys....like I said, almost.
Thanks for the great idea!

With three dogs running around snow ice cream is off the list.
You have jinxed me! I asked you not to shoo the snow north. Today I find out we are getting six inches of snow this week. Thanks! ;)
