Crystal Beach Park in Woodward, is a favourite spot throughout the year for picnics, cookouts, fishing, walking, tennis, golf or visiting the ducks. Brand new playground equipment for all ages is available, along with plenty of outdoor cooking areas and now they are building a new water park for fun in the summer heat. On Sunday the Hubster and I decided to take advantage of the fabulous weather and have a picnic there ourselves. We sat at the side of the beautiful lake in about 78 degree sunshine and just admired the view, including those infamous Seagulls! Crystal Beach is the site of some big local events every year, including the Elks Rodeo for over 70 years and Crystal Christmas, when they light the whole park with Christmas lights. It is a great leisure amenity for the whole town and enjoyed by all of us locally. Double-click to enlarge pictures

Stunning photos. Why is it that you don't do that for a living exactly ?

Have a great week!

Terrific photos! Does look like a great place for a picnic!
A picnic - how wonderful, great place and shots.
what a scenic area that is. that would be the perfect locale for a lot of photo ops.
enjoy your week.
Lass you don't need a beach when tou got this. How gorgeous. The hospotality there sounds wonderful. Cookouts. You can't even get them to come to a barbie here.
Looks so inviting and relaxing!
Oh that does look a nice place to visit. The photos are brill!
Wot not rain yet?
Looks like a great peaceful place for a picnic! Great photos!
Sarah, what a beautiful park. Nice that you and your hubby got to have a picnic!
You had a nice time! Such a lovely place to spend moments of peace.
Very nice spot for a picnic.
Beautiful shots Sarah. It's so incredibly dry by the looks.
I love the pictures. That looks like a great place to relax. I found you on My World Tuesday and I'm impressed by your story. Met online and moved to Oklahoma? That's love! Good for you. : )
A beautiful place to spend a warm afternoon.
Looks like a great place to play backgammon!
Nice pictures Sarah.
Pretty soon it will be warm enough here for a picnic. Until that time, I'll enjoy your photos.
I LOVE these photos!!! The first and last absolutely take my breath away. The blue, blue sky, the wisps of clouds, the wonderful skeleton trees. Absolutely fantastic!
Nice spot - my favourite kind to laze in, especially if it is as silent as it looks - I won't mind the seagulls at all though!
Ah, 78 degrees. I feel warmer just thinking about it. Looks like a wonderful park for an afternoon outing.
It looks like a lovely location for a picnic. We too have had weather in the 70's and 80's the past few days, despite the snow last weekend. Severe thunderstorms were forecast today - but didn't happen. Maybe tomorrow. :-)
How beautiful! There's nothing quite like an Oklahoma sky, is there?
We all love picnics and this place looks fantastic for a picnic. Your photos are amazing.
The only thing that baklava and galaktoboureko have the same is the pastry. The baklava has peanuts inside but the galaktoboureko has creme with semolina, eggs, milk, sugar and butter.
I'm starting to get the Oklahoma sky thing! Beautiful place to have a picnic! Life qualitish!
Nice place for a picnic! 78° sounds kinda warm for March. Don't you wish you could have picnicked in snow and below freezing temperatures? ;-)
This really sounds like a perfect day with the Hubster. That's such a beautiful setting.
I would love to see a rodeo. That looks like a very beautiful spot.
Everything is so crystal clear in Crystal Beach! Such a great place.
this looks like a fabulous place, lucky you to have a Crystal Beach Park!
Crystal Beach Park looks so inviting to me, that I almost fancy myself sitting there and have a picnic! Thanks!
Sarah: It looks like a neat place but the lack of rain sure has browned it out.
Looks like a great place for a relaxing picnic. :)
Forget scenery. I almost called you when I saw Melissa showed up on Dancing with the Stars!!!! I was rolling knowing what you were thinking about her!!!!! But hey, she did pretty well for 48 hours notice!!!! Hope all is well with you guys.
That looks like the perfect place for a weekend. We had a warm weekend too. Nice to get signs of spring coming. Great shots. I love those big trees.
Looks like a great place. Thanks for sharing.
still looks so wintery.
It's so fascinating seeing your photos of Oklahoma. I really had no idea of what it looks like out there on the plains.
Nice photos! However, I have to admit, although I might like to visit, I'd have a hard time living anywhere that flat!
I love those blue, sunny skies!
A lovely spot for a picnic! Did you get to people watch? I love watching other people and their pets...
Beautiful pix, Sarah! Perfect day for a picnic!
So...it was you who introduced that treasure hunting geo thingy to Rob! I can see you enjoying it, too!
looks like our weather here over the weekend. in fact all week has been in the 70s. bad news is snow showers in the extended forecast.
