My smile is back!

Thank you to those of you who enquired. I am pleased to report I have my smile back and am recovering well from oral surgery on Friday.

It was a pretty yucky weekend, in fact I didn't even make it out of my PJ's! Three doses of the heavyweight codeine helped, and after that I got by with the OTC painkillers. The actual pain from the site was minimal considering the bone grafting done.

I had the most discomfort from a suture that had a knot rubbing on my palate, it was BAD, but happily my dentist fixed this today. The other problem was the temporary full upper retainer, with a composite replacement tooth built in, it made all my other teeth ache!

So yesterday I stayed home then I didn't have to keep it in for 8 hours, and to allow me to deal with my discomfort in private. I also suffered a pretty major and rare bout of depression all day, it just hit me that I'd lost a front tooth, and the Hubster had to deal with an unusual problem - a very quiet introverted Sarah!

But today at noon I got my interim replacement 'flipper' tooth which will be in for 8 months until the implant is complete, and that painful suture fixed. The replacement is a good match and very comfortable, so my mojo has returned along with my smile.

Glad you're feeling better. I was pretty depressed when I lost my first tooth also. Used to smile like a kid with new braces. Thank goodness there was no pain associated.

So glad you are feeling better.

Do you remember the sweets called Mojos? Little chewy toffee-like of all flavours.

Great news, nothing, IMO, is worse than tooth pain

Well, don't you think you are allowed one day once in a great while just to moan and groan and feel bad? I give myself two days and then make myself get up and around. Sounds like your dentist has a good game plan going and hopefully all will be back to normal soon!

Glad to hear you're feeling better.

I'm all booked in for my tooth extraction in 2 weeks time. I felt sick the minute it was booked!!!

So glad you are better. I'm sure losing that front on does pray on the mind a bit. Oooo codiene, I unfortunatley can't take the stuff...

So sorry to hear about your dental problems - but so glad to hear your smile is back!!! One of my goals in life is to die with all my own teeth - I hope I make it! But you never know...
