State of Emergency!

You know it's not going to be good, when your Governor declares a State of Emergency more than 12 hours before the bad weather even starts! They need to adopt this policy in the UK, it would stop alot of the madness in winter weather.

Anyway, here I am stuck at home on a 'snow day' and "dang" I'm just so upset about that - not :-) All the schools are closed in most of Okieland as we batten down the hatches for a huge winter storm, which has us set as it's bullseye.

It has just started raining ice and with winds up to 30mph here, that's very bad news for the power lines. So we are just starting with the icestorm, but if the forecasts are right, we should change into a snowstorm quickly. They are predicting up to a foot of snow by the morning for us in the north-west and hopefully another snow day.

If the forcasters are right we'll be luckier than the rest of the state. Everywhere south and east they are predicted to get alot more ice and almost guaranteed power outages for hundreds of thousands. So to all my fellow Okie bloggers I wish you lots of continued power and warmth.

Now I'm off to do some baking whilst I still can. We are stocked up and have a furnace we can light, so we'll be warm and safe, but if I go quiet you'll know why!

Piccies taken @ 3pm.....

Ice finished, snow blizzard well underway.

I'm in the northeast side of the state. Still just mostly cloudy here. So far I've been successful in my attempts to hold off the storm with my mind, haha. Stay warm.

:) Our kids here in Tulsa had school today. It didn't start till about one. Still about as much rain as there is ice. We have firewood, food, gas stove, blankets and candles. What else do we need? I'm breaking out the board games later tonight!

Hope you don't get too much ice - snow isn't as destructive. Stay warm and safe and enjoy your day off.
