The song ain't wrong!

'Oklahoma where the wind comes sweepin' down the Plain'

Which is what it's been doing here all week and this is CRAZY windy. I know y'all think you get windy days, but try 7 days of winds running at 40-60mph daily and then tell me about it!

The other day our local radio weather forecaster said "tomorrow will be breezy, with winds around 40mph"! Yeh right, a breezy day is winds in the 20's max as far as I'm concerned, over 40 mph sustained is WINDY. Thank God I am a member of the 'naturally messy, windswept hair look', this is not straight hair weather.

I can't even count the number of times in the past week I have had to fight with a door just to get out of my, house, car, office, you choose!  Anyway if I could photograph it I would just as proof.

So today I am preparing for a hamburger feed at our house tonight, for the Hubsters band, the wind is supposed to drop later. Then the youngest stepson is descending on us all weekend, so I am cooking, as he tends to eat all in sight! German Chocolate cake is up next.

So a busy weekend ahead, what are you up to?

It's the May Bank holiday weekend here, so it's raining! No rain for almost 2 weeks, then come the Bank Holiday.....

Wind or rain, rain or wind??? Hmmm...

Enjoy your houseful weekend.

I'm doing my sponsored walk for the little school in Ghana tomorrow so praying for no rain. The weather here is fab but rain is forecast too. Groan.
It's been dead windy here. We have bits of roofing in our back garden but it's not our roof!!!

You know, my mother-in-law, when she remarried moved to Elk City where Harold was from. She was out in the yard one day and went inside to get him and bring him outside. While standing in the middle of the yard she asked, "When does it stop." He asked, "What stop." She replied, "The wind." He replied, "Never."

It has been quite windy here in Western Arkansas the last few days. Whenever we have a windy day I think. "well at least it's not as windy as it is in Oklahoma". :)

Hello again, Sarah! Thanks for stopping by...
God bless ya as you deal with the closing tasks of another school year. I remember what that entails!
I find that windy conditions scare me because of how powerful it can be...caused a tree to join the house many years ago!
And I'm on your side about snakes. Right now, though, it's the flippin ants that are freaking me out!!

Wow. Over here in my corner of Oklahoma it has been windy but not that bad. I think having a few more hills and trees slows it down a bit.

I enjoyed your pictures of the lake.
