Pretty but a pain!

A typical English church, this is why I still haven't got used to going to church in a modern building that's warm, carpeted and offers facilities!

That's Andy Williams shivering in the snow, the other Andy Williams, my brother.

Aaah it's been great to see the return of a British icon!

The only reason we have managed to get out and about, my brothers old Pickup he bought just to cart off trash and building supplies from his renovation. His main car has been superceded by this with it's 4WD!

Family dinner last night, Roast Lamb which I have missed.

The church and phone box look lovely in the snow don't they! Can't beat red against the snow. Roast lamb? delicious and smells wonderful cooking too.
Love your pictures of the family. You look rested after your long trip last week!
Blessings, Star

Very nice photos. We have two red boxes in Tulsa. One at Utica square is functional. Nice looking family.

I love roast lamb. My mother used to make it way back when.

Oh the horror stories on the nightly news about the queues of people stuck due to the snow/cancelled flights waiting for the/a train

So lovely .. I hope when you get back to OK its not snow covered

Brr.... Beautiful, but cold looking. Thank goodness for 4x4.

I have a lamb roast in the freezer. How is it prepared in the UK?

Hey - I love cold churches, where your breath is visable whilst singing christmas carols, i love the way we have 'church coats' which are wool, thick and come out for special occasions. I love stumbling around in dark churchyards and dark churches at christmas. How, please! can you live without roast lamb? and roast pork? surely you eat a roast lunch every sunday??? mint sauce, apple sauce? horse radish sauce are in your cupboards? ah well, you're home on English soil for a few weeks and can get some decent food! gravy, roast parsnips, brussel sprouts and peas! lovely photos xxxx

I read that they are going to use the phone boxes as ATMs. I hope no one pees in them like the old days.

I'm so glad you're having such a great time. I have a chocolate tin we bought a couple decades ago in London that was shaped like the telephone stand. It brought back lovely memories. Your English church looks like a castle. Love it!

Just found your blog and saw the pic of the phone box and just had to let you know (just in case you didn't already) that there are a bunch of those phone boxes on the OU campus in Norman.

The story we were told was that OU bought a bunch from England. As far as I know they still have working phones in them...however, nobody ever used them since we all had cell phones.
