For better or worse - snake test!

The husband of a colleague, has an overly developed mischievous side, and he decided to amuse himself at his families expense!

Unbeknownst to any of them he had shot and killed a 3-4ft black snake. So he decided to utilise it in a practical joke on his lovely wife. He took the snake and attached it to a fishing line, he then placed it in her car, attaching the line to the door handle inside.

Along comes my colleague, opens her car door and the snake comes flying out and lands on her foot AND SHE IS WEARING FLIP-FLOPS!! She does not realise the snake is dead as she cannot see the gunshot wound. So in a total panic she immediately and understandably starts running. But the fishing line has got wrapped around her foot and so she thinks the snake is chasing her down, as it follows her!!

I don't know how it ended, but I did ask her if she had filed the divorce papers yet?! She said she'll have her revenge when he's least expecting it.

However her husband then used his 'pet dead' snake on other members of his family. This time he attached some money to the other end of the fishing line, hid the snake on the porch and left the money in view. Of course someone comes along, picks up the money and gets a face full of snake!!

Needless to say I have already warned the Hubster if he EVER does anything like this to me he will be either; a) dead by my bare hands or b) divorced!! His reply to me "No I won't because the shock would have killed you"!

I ask you dear friends, could you ever forgive this?

If my husband had done that to me, he'd be a dead man for sure. And there wouldn't be a jury in the world who would convict me! That is, if I lived long enough to kill him. The shock and fear would probably kill me first.

HOLY CRAP. I shouldn't have laughed at this because I know I would have been pissed off if this little joke was played on me.... BUT then again, it's hilarious still. ;)

Sorry, I really don't think killing a snake is so very funny.
I realize alot of people are afraid of them however they have
thier place in the natural cyle of our World. They are very helpful in keeping the rodent population down. Killing any living thing just for a joke is not funny.
Most creatures are just trying to stay out of our way and will attack only when provoked or startled. Education is the key to help us be less afraid of what we are not familiar with.

Anonymous - first of all this snake was not killed as a joke. Around here any snake is a dead snake in town, as we have too many and alot are poisonous. Secondly we are so over-run with Rattlers many local towns have big annual roundups where they catch hundreds, even thousands in 2/3 days! This is done with the help of conservation groups as our snake population needs keeping in check, in the same way the rodent population does elsewehere.

Finally it's a shame you commented anon, as we both believe your comments come from a perspective of someone who is unlikely to run across a snake in their daily life!

Going through a divorce is a very rebellious time in an individual's life. It is hard to defend to being single again, as well as living "out of the habit" of being married, especially if you have been coupled for many years.

Actually I live in Southern California with the Cleaveland National Forest right next to me.
Rattlesnakes abound. I definatley watch my step when out hiking or around things like rock piles but I never carry a gun with me. I'll leave that to the gang bangers in South Central L.A.

Thanks for the funny.
